Lancers Move Back Over .500


A day after tying Hillsboro in an emotionally draining match on the Toppers’ home turf, Lincolnwood picked up a much needed victory over Metro-East Lutheran to move their record back over the .500 mark.

Playing in Edwardsville on Sept. 21, the Lancers were tied at halftime with the nights, but picked up a second half score to win 2-1 and improve to 6-5-1 on the season.

Sophomore Austin Thornton and junior Elijah Aumann would score for the Lancers. The pair currently lead Lincolnwood in scoring, with Aumann racking up 12 of Lincolnwood’s 24 goals, while Thornton now has four on the season.

Gabe Armentrout picked up the win in goal for the Lancers as he made one save in the victory.

Lincolnwood will be back at home on Friday, Sept. 24, as they take on the Riverton-Tri-City co-op team, the Hawknadoes, at 5:30 p.m. at Terry Todt Field in Raymond.
