Karla Bononi, 76, formerly of Staunton, died on Oct. 3, 2026.
No formal services will be held at this time. The family asks that you remember Mrs. Bononi in your own special way.
Mrs. Bononi was born on Oct. 2, 1950, to Karl and Helen Coatney. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, grandmother and memaw who will be deeply missed by family and friends.
She and her husband, Ed, owned Staunton Cleaners and were members at Zion Lutheran Church for many years. She was the church secretary for a few years until they moved to Florida to retire. She was very active with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Cairns and Mark (Shirley) Bononi; her grandchildren, Bethany (Nathan) Mathenia, Tegan Bononi and Bailey Moyer; her great-grandchildren, Lucas and Levi Mathenia; her sister, Karen Franzen; sisters in-law Connie (John) Colley and Mildred (Charles) Dittes; along with many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; parents; brother, Dennis Coatney; and brother-in-law, Tom Franzen.
