Kailyn Treece, 24, of Hillsboro, died on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Treece was born Jan. 26, 2000, in Granite City, to Winford Treece and Amanda Louise Schmollinger-Angle. She was a graduate of Granite City High School and had worked in restaurants including Panera Bread and at the Amazon Warehouse. She was a great mother to her son, Mason, a caring person and a light within herself.
Ms. Treece is survived by her beloved son Mason Treece; step-father and step-mother, John Schmollinger and Tabatha Osborn; step-mother Stephanie Treece; grandmother Victoria White; siblings Jessica, Annika, Isisa, and Gabbie Schmollinger, Elijah Defenbaugh, Brittany (Kevin) James and Amanda (Kyle) Everett; and niece Dahlia James and nephew Jude James.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winford and Amanda.
