Jonathan Garrett Kirchner, 32, of Hillsboro, died due to a tragic motorcycle accident on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at Taylorville Hospital in Taylorville.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at Grace Baptist Church in Nokomis. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m., also at the church.
Mr. Kirchner was born Nov. 2, 1993 in Astoria, OR. He was the son of Calvin Hill and Terrisa Kirchner. He was a truck driver, most recently working for Donnewald Distributing in Greenville. He attended Nokomis Schools.
He loved being outdoors and enjoyed going to the river, fishing, hunting, throwing axes and knives, planting flowers and going to get a Christmas tree every year. He was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to audio books. He loved music, animals and he loved Jesus. One of his favorite hobbies was tie dying. He would tie dye anything and everything he could, and it was something he enjoyed doing with his family. Mr. Kirchner especially loved his kids and his family and loved spending time with them.
Mr. Kirchner is survived by his mom, Terrisa Kirchner; children, Kylee Kirchner, Zachariah Kirchner, Elijah Kirchner and Amya Grace; his siblings, Jovana Jacobson, Kenneth Law, Malaina (Ryan) McNeill, Mariah Kirchner and Kaden (Lydia) Kirchner; grandfather, Pete Winters; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Hill; his grandparents, Opal Lawrence, Neil Kirchner and Dixie Winters; his adopted grandmother, Linda Arndt; and his beloved dog, Zeplin.
Memorial donation may be made to his children or to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter.
