John Michael Murray, 67, of Macon, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at 4:45 p.m. at his residence.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, Nov. 24, at South Macon Township Cemetery. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care in Decatur was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Murray was born in February of 1954 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, the son of Edward and Frances Murray.
He was an active walker and had a passion for plants.
Mr. Murray is survived by his mother, Frances Murray of Macon; brothers Timothy E. Murray of Macon, Grady T. (wife Paula) Murray of Lovington, and Robert H. (wife Candice) Murray of Moweaqua; and sisters Sharon A. (husband Robert) Grobelny of Decatur, Patricia M. (husband Michael) Rhoades of Hillsboro, and Connie F. (husband Todd) Myers of Moweaqua.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Murray; and grandparents John and Anna Murray, and Hallie and Violet McQuality.
His family would like to thank the Cancer Care Center of Decatur nurses and staff for the special care given to Murray during his time of illness.
