John Henry Eilers, 65, of Livingston, died at 9:59 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Community Hospital of Staunton.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Eilers was born on July 2, 1960, in Litchfield, the son of Gloria (Riva) Eilers and the late Donald L. Eilers. He married Peggy Jo Kilpatrick, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 2023.
He was a master mechanic at Cassens in Glen Carbon for over 40 years. He was a member of New Douglas Lutheran Church in New Douglas, the NRA and District #9 International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors.
Mr. Eilers is survived by his children, Donald (Nancy) Eilers of Staunton and Beth (Brad) McNaughton of Edwardsville; grandsons, Evan Michael McNaughton and Wiatt James McNaughton; mother, Gloria Eilers of St. Louis, MO; brothers, Dennis (Susan) Eilers of Albuquerque, NM, Robert (Dan) Eilers of St. Louis, MO, and Thomas (Kathleen) Eilers of St. Charles, MO; significant other, Roxanne Williams of Coffeen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife and father.
Memorials are suggested to either the Humane Society, the NRA or to the Arbor Day Foundation.
