Jessica Prose, 36, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at her home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Ms. Prose was born Oct. 27, 1985, in Litchfield, to Shelley (Garner) Perkins and John Prose.

During her career, she worked as a loan officer for Bank of America for several years.

Ms. Prose was an adventurous, loving, bubbly and energetic person. She enjoyed going on float trips, concerts and going on random road trips with her friends. 

She had a hankering for pickles; she would eat any flavor. She loved spending time with her four-legged companion Champ, her family and friends.

Ms. Prose is survived by her parents, Shelley (husband Ron) Perkins of Centralia and John (special friend June Hughes) Prose of Litchfield; grandparents, Sharon DeVries of New Douglas and Ray Garner of Florida; two stepsisters, Betsy (husband Ryan) McCarty of Lebanon and Kelsey (husband Josh) Tate of Salem; niece and nephew, Emma and Riley Tate, both of Salem; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Merl DeVries and Lester and Joan Prose.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Centralia Humane Society and will be accepted by the funeral home at 235 North Sycamore St., Centralia, IL 62801.
