Jason T. Albert, 49, of Keyesport, died on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 512 S. Prairie St., Greenville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 26, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church with Father Jeffrey Stone officiating. Burial will follow at German Cemtery in rural Hookdale. Assalley-Young Funeral Home in Greenville is assisting the family.

Mr. Albert was born Aug. 4, 1973, in Greenville, to Ralph Edward and Rosemary Agnes (Bussen) Albert.

He graduated from Greenville High School in 1991 and furthered his education, earning an associate’s degree in agricultural business from Kaskaskia College.

During his career, Mr. Albert worked for several companies throughout the years, starting with Moorman’s Feed Company as a dairy specialist, Carlyle Syntec as a maintenance technician for 18 years, Lakeside Farms, for Jim Schaufelberger for 30 years, which is what started his love for brown swiss cows, and Essendant since 2016. He was also the owner and operator, along with his daughters, of Harvest Breeze Farms.

He served on many boards as organizations and community service were important to him. He judged for dairy, soil and mechanics for the Greenville FFA and 4-H Club, served on the board of directors for the National Brown Swiss Association, and was currently the vice president of the Illinois Brown Swiss Association, as well as a former president.

Mr. Albert was never afraid of hard work and often helped other farmers out during planting and harvest season. He had a hands-on approach to work and family, and tried to instill the same work ethic and family values into his children. Collecting toy John Deere tractors was a fun hobby he enjoyed, as was traveling to cattle shows and sales. His passions, other than his family, were cows, farming and tractors. He will be missed by his children, family and friends who knew him best.

He is survived by his children, Peyton (Christian) Paine of Kincaid and Hannah (Jack Hilt) Albert and Ellie Albert, both of Keyesport; mother of Greenville; grandchildren, Paisley Randolph and Bayleigh Paine of Kincaid; and sisters, Cheryl (Kenny) Korte of Mulberry Grove and Shelly (Clyde) Lurkins of Greenville.

Mr. Albert was preceded in death by his father.
