James David Conant, 48, of St. James, MO, died on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, at his home.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Conant was born March 4, 1974, in Hillsboro, to David and Cathryn (McCall) Conant.
A Nokomis High School graduate, he went on to earn his degree at Western Illinois University. During his career, he served as a bus driver for SMTD Mass Transit. His great passion was working with disadvantaged children at Kemmerer Village and also with children in Missouri.
Mr. Conant was a great sports fan and followed all of Nokomis High School sports and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. James, MO.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, David and Barb Conant of Nokomis; sister, Amanda (Kenneth) Kuhn of Nokomis; nephew, Kaleb Kuhn of Nokomis; niece, Megan Kuhn of Nokomis; stepbrothers, Brent (Amanda) Keele and Brook (Rachel) Keele, both of Nokomis; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Conant was preceded in death by his mother; and stepbrother, Blake (Joan) Keele.
