Jack W. Butcher, 71 of Litchfield, died on Friday morning, Jan. 26, 2024, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hillsboro.
A private memorial service will be held for Jack in Tennessee with family. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Butcher, fondly known to his loved ones as “Grandpa Jack,” was born July 29, 1952, in Chicago, a son of Willis and Mae (Tueting) Butcher. He married Karin (Bayer) Ressler, in Las Vegas, NV, in 1997.
Mr. Butcher was the owner of DermaShield in Litchfield, until his retirement in 2014.
Mr. Butcher was a true and loyal friend, known for his entertaining, joke telling, quick wit and generosity of heart. His favorite hobby was fishing. He would go on annual fishing trips with his best friend, Tim, and together they would “slay” buckets full of fish from the lakes or ocean. “Grandpa Jack” will be loved, remembered, and missed, always and forever.
He is survived by his wife, Karin Butcher of Litchfield; daughter, Birgit (Jonathan) Goldfarb of Jonesborough, TN, and son, Tom (Susan) Ressler of Blountville, TN; three grandchildren, Amanda (Bradford) Marsili of Louisville, KY, Cody (Meg) Ressler of Asheville, NC, and Marie (Travis) Taylor of Kingsport, TN; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Butcher of Ohio and Tom Butcher of Alaska and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Butcher was preceded in death by his parents.
