Howard Raymond Harris, 78, of Litchfield, died on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, at home with his family by his side. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie, with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harris was born on Dec. 3, 1947, in Bonne Terre, MO, to Howard and Jessie Cruse Harris Miller. He graduated high school in 1966 from Esther High School in Esther, MO, then proudly served his country in Vietnam. He and his wife were married in 1995. He attended college at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and then went to work at National Steel in Granite City. He attended Southwest Illinois College, graduated from the pipefitter program and worked as a pipefitter for National Steel until his retirement in 2001.

He loved anything outdoors, including fishing and camping, but he mostly loved getting together with family and friends at their home. His passion was anything to do with classic cars, from buying, selling and rebuilding them to attending classic car shows with his wife, car buddies and his son, David. His heart and wit will be sadly missed.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Donna; son, David Harris of East Alton; daughters, Kellie (Curtis) Monteith of Waynesville, NC and Jennifer (Mark) Henrichs of Gillespie; grandchildren, Alexis (Justin) Hagan, Brianne (Loren) Scheller, Paige Harris, Taylor (Ian) Weishaupt, Nathan (Megan) Henrichs and Wyatt Harris; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Collins, Adler, Oakley, Salem, Bernie and Hayden; brothers, Richard (Jewell) Harris of Farmington, MO and Brad (Brenda) Harris of Ironton, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Patricia Harris and brother Roger Harris.
