Harold Roger Dugan, 84, of Pittsburg, died on Monday. Feb. 20, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23,  at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Bell officiating. Interment will be held at McInturff Cemetery. Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Dugan was born on Oct. 30, 1938, in Pittsburg, in the bedroom of the house of his parents, Harold Collier and Opal Irene (Williams) Dugan. He married Colette Catherine Vince on Feb. 23, 1985, in Markham. Mr. Dugan attended the Mulberry Grove schools. Mr. Dugan would milk cows for one of his brothers before school and help his dad with farming after school. He graduated from Mulberry Grove High School with the class of 1956.

Mr. Dugan joined the United States Navy at the age of 17; he was based out of San Diego, CA, but spent time in Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines. After being honorably discharged, Mr. Dugan entered into industrial and chemical sales and services, working for a variety of employers, including Shell Oil before co-founding Plant Maintenance Services of Highland. His experience, knowledge and reputation took him to clients across the country, from California to Florida and from Detroit to Houston, and everywhere in between. His clients included the Apollo Space Program, nuclear power plants, fossil fuel power plants, breweries for household names such as Anheuser-Busch, and water features for Las Vegas hotels such as the Bellagio. He always enjoyed learning something new from each client or engagement.

Mr. Dugan is survived by his wife, Colette; his children, Bruce (Lori) Dugan, Lisa Sevison and Christine (Greg Davis) Vince; daughter-in-law, Lynda Dugan (widow of son Paul); grandchildren Robert (Angie) Dugan, Brian (Patrice) Dugan, Jessica Dugan, Christopher (Katrice) Dugan of Hillsboro, Leslie Coover, Rebekah (Nik) Medzyak, Stephen (Emily) Dugan, James (Dai) Dugan and Lucas Sevison; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a great many grand-cats.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul Douglas Dugan; and siblings, Lenora Nadine Pence, Dean Collier Dugan, Kenneth Eugene Dugan and Floyd Keith Dugan.

Mr. Dugan was very supportive of charities that favored children and animals. His family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or locally to Bond County Humane Society of Greenville, where he adopted his beloved kittens Cider and Cinder.
