Gregory D. Braye, 66, of Morrisonville, died on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Taylorville Care Center.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service was held on Saturday, March 28, in the Morrisonville Cemetery with David Ernst officiating. Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Braye was born on Oct. 5, 1959, in Hillsboro, the son of Mervin and Betty (Engelhart) Braye. He attended Nokomis High School and was a member of the Morrisonville Baptist Church.
Mr. Braye worked in construction for several years with his brother, Mike. He also worked for 10 years for GSI. He had a love for cats and cared for several.
Mr. Braye is survived by his siblings, Connie Sue McWard of Morrisonville, Brenda Walquist (Lynn) of Karnak and Belinda Ernst (David) of Harvel; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike Braye and Doug Braye; and brother-in-law, Larry McWard.
