Freida M. Malloy, 96, of Carlinville, died at 3:07 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Village of Morse Farms in Carlinville.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 16, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Memorial services will be on Saturday, May 16, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen.
Mrs. Malloy was born on Feb. 10, 1930, in Macoupin County to James Orville Kelly and Celia Ellen Dillon Kelly. She married Carl T. “Doc” Malloy on Oct. 16, 1974, in Hillsboro. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 2008. She was a retired waitress and cook for Freida’s Cafe in Benld, The Grill in Gillespie, Bernhardt’s, Gillespie, and Gillespie High School.
Mrs. Malloy is survived by her children, Larry (Debra) Pintar of McKinney, TX, Patrick (Jill) Pintar of Carlinville, Gloria Sidar of Gillespie, Antonia (John) Groves of Walshville, Nadine Malloy of Hanover, MD, and Ashley Malloy of Zeigler; stepson, Jeff Malloy of Coffeen; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Marjorie Taylor, Joe Kelly and Jim Kelly.
Mrs. Malloy was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; stepsons, Karl Malloy and Billy Malloy; and siblings, Arlene Griva, Ellen Clemonds, Edna Audi, Betty Heck, Mary Lou Jubelt, Doris Donaldson, John Kelly, Orville Kelly, Jr. and Bill Kelly.
