Evellyn L. Bergman, 97, of Sherman, formerly of Raymond and Beaufort, SC, died on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 12:45 p.m. at The Villa East in Sherman.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 18, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Mulch officiating. Burial will be held at Raymond Cemetery.
Mrs. Bergman was born Sept. 19, 1923, near Stonington, to Henry and Lucille (Owen) Mason. She married Harry Bergman on Oct. 16, 1940, in St. Charles, MO, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2008.
During her career, she worked for the Illinois Secretary of State for 17 years before retirement.
Mrs. Bergman is survived by her sons, Larry (wife Susan) Bergman of Gastonia, SC, and Russell (wife Anne) Bergman of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughters, Janet (companion Harold Berner) Norris of Rochester and Tina (husband Mike) Kuhn of Beaufort, SC; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew; and two sisters, Mildred and Margaret.
