Edith Rosetta Pruitt, 94, of Butler, died at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, at Heritage Health in Carlinville.
Private family graveside services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Elm Lawn Cemetery, with Lee Jarman officiating. Plummer Funeral Home of Litchfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Pruitt was born in Litchfield on Feb. 26, 1928, a daughter of Charles and Evelyn (Elliman) Crawford. She married William Howard Pruitt on April 6, 1947, near Raymond and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1994. Mrs. Pruitt graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1946. A homemaker and farm wife, Mrs. Pruitt loved working in her yard and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed crocheting, family gatherings and collecting salt and pepper shakers.
Mrs. Pruitt is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Davis of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Frank Davis; brothers Ray Crawford, Kenneth Crawford and Charles Crawford; and her sisters, Loeta Pruitt and Letha Bergman.
