Dorothy Anne (Browe) Bullard, 93, died on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022,  peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.

Private graveside services will be held at the Morrisonville Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bullard’s, located at 311 S. 6th in Morrisonville. Moran and Goebel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Bullard was born on Feb. 22, 1929, in Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Capital Hill High School and attended Oklahoma State University where she met William “Bill” Bullard. They were married on Sept. 9, 1948.

The couple moved to Morrisonville where he was hired to teach Agriculture at Morrisonville High School in 1949. Mrs. Bullard was involved in many volunteer activities during her life starting at a young age. Her inspiration was her father who she adored. She made bandages for WWII soldiers and continued her love and compassion for others.

While living in Morrisonville, Mrs. Bullard was a Brownie and Cub Scout leader and organized swim lessons for children through the Red Cross. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, National Weather Observer for 60 years, director of the Morrisonville Historical Society, director of the Morrisonville/Palmer Food Pantry, was on the initial start-up of the Morrisonville Ambulance Service and was a member of the Morrisonville Volunteer Fire Department. She organized and operated blood drives for the Red Cross, and received the prestigious Red Cross Hero Award for her work.

Mrs. Bullard’s other work included teaching at the St. Maurice School, substitute teaching at Morrisonville Community High School, village clerk and librarian at the Kitchell Memorial Library.

Mrs. Bullard is survived by her children Michael (Nancy) Bullard, Linda (Philip) Johnson, Susan (Rodney) Wade and Charles (Linda) Bullard; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jeannie) Bullard, Bradley Wade, Jacob (Jessica) Bullard, Joshua (BriAnn) Bullard; and by five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years and her grandson, Gregory Bullard.
