Diana R. Roe, 78, of Hillsboro, Illinois, formerly of Vandalia, died on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at the Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

 Private family services will be held at a later date. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia is assisting the family with arrangements.  

Mrs. Roe was born on Feb. 17, 1943, in Kresgeville, PA, the daughter of John Samuel and Viola Irene (Getz) George. She married Marsden L. Roe, Sr. on Dec. 24, 1960, in Lehighton, PA.

Mrs. Roe was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, cleaning, playing bingo, working the scrambler in the Leader-Union Newspaper, reading Danielle Steel novels and gardening, but most of all spending time with her family. She was a dietary aid at Fayette County Hospital, hostess at Long John Silvers, worked at Wendy’s, and volunteered at Twice Nice, all of Vandalia. She was affiliated with the Woburn Baptist Church in Greenville.

Mrs. Roe is survived by her husband; son, Marsden L. Roe Jr., of Lugoff, S.C.; daughters, DeAnn (Shawn) Schukar of  Collinsville and Cheryl Roe of Vandalia; sister, Janet (Delbert) Smith of Lehighton, PA; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and three sisters.
