Dean Lupton, 70, of Nokomis, died at 6:53 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis. Sutton Funeral Home of Nokomis is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Lupton was born on Oct. 17, 1950, in Shelbyville, the son of Carl F. “Curly” and Florence E. (Schwerdtfeger) Lupton. He married Brenda Howell on Jan. 26, 1974 in Nokomis; she preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 2006. Mr. Lupton was the manager of Main Street Federal Auto Parts in Taylorville from 1974 to 2000 and then worked at GSI from 2000 to 2018.
Mr. Lupton is survived by his sons, James (Wendy) Lupton of Edinburg and Jason (Angie) Lupton of Nokomis; companion, Barb Dulceak of Nokomis; grandson, Coby Lupton of Nokomis; sister, Donna Lupton of Shelbyville; brothers, Jim (Cheryl) Lupton of Vandalia and John (Kathy) Lupton of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister, Vivian.
