David Logsdon, 74, of Champaign, formerly of Montgomery County, died peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 14, at New Horizons Church in Champaign. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., with a memorial service to honor his life from 5 to 6 p.m.

Mr. Logsdon, known affectionately as “Dave,” was born on Feb. 6, 1952, in Fillmore, to Corene (Johnson) Logsdon and Charles Logsdon. He was the third of six children and grew up alongside his brothers, Wayne (Marilyn), Bruce (Bonne) and Kevin (Joann) Logsdon and his sisters, Gloria (Jim) Kelly and Glenda (Randy) Carroll.

Mr. Logsdon graduated from Nokomis High School in 1970. In 1973, he married his wife, Mary Brohammer, in Coffeen. Shortly thereafter, they made their home on Washington St. in Champaign, where they built a life centered around family, hard work, and community. He worked at the Illinois American Water Company as the senior plant mechanic and retired in 2008 after 32 years.

Mr. Logsdon enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and coaching his sons’ sports teams. He was known for always lending a helping hand and supporting his family and friends.

Mr. Logsdon is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary (Brohammer) Logsdon of Champaign; his sons, Jason (Susanne) Logsdon of Bartlett, Matt (Janelle) Logsdon of Urbana and Ryan (Jamie) Logsdon of Fisher; his six cherished grandchildren, Adelyn, Gwenyth, Brylar, Lucas, Brystal and Bralyn Logsdon; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
