Darryl Henke, 61, of Sorento, formerly of Staunton, died at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, with burial following services at Spangle Cemetery near Livingston. The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside military rites.
Mr. Henke was born on Dec. 8, 1964, in Albuquerque, NM, the son of the late Maurice and Christa (Kreuz) Henke. He married Wanda Cordani and they later divorced. He then married Andrea Kirchner and she preceded him in death in 2024.
He was employed as a rural mail carrier in Staunton, through the U.S. Postal Service for over 25 years and will be remembered for the simple joys that brought him happiness. He was a proud Army veteran, a reflection of his dedication and service to his country. He loved riding motorcycles, spending time fishing, watching the Cardinals and old westerns and working in his shed. Above all, he cherished being with his family and friends, creating lasting memories with those he loved most.
Mr. Henke is survived by his children, Joshua (Grace) Henke of Lexington, SC, and Whitney (Taylor) Breen of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Elliot Henke and Brooks, Brady and Beau Breen; brother, Bryan Henke of Alvin, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
