Damian P. Dobrinich, 58, of Staunton, died on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023 near Fillmore.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton.  A funeral mass will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton, with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Olive.  The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside military rites.

Mr. Dobrinich was born Nov. 22, 1964, the son of the late Nicholas Joseph & Mary Olga (Nardin) Dobrinich Sr.  He married Dimitria "Wah-ker" Sies, and they later divorced.

Mr. Dobrinich worked as a Chemical Operator at Phillips 66 Refinery for 33 years, & also served his country in the U.S. Air Force.  He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Staunton, IL;  a past member of Staunton VFW Post #1241; & he loved fishing & hunting.

He is survived by one daughter, Vanessa Dobrinich of Staunton and one son Nicholas (Kendall) Dobrinich of Highland;  two grandchildren Madaline and Grayson Horne of Staunton;  eight siblings Diana Newby of Mt. Olive,  Nancy (Harold) Johns of Staunton, Mary (Paul) Reid of California,  Dan (Tammy) Dobrinich of Staunton, Linda (Bob) Summers of Staunton, Tina Dobrinich (Mengiste Ayele) of Bloomington, Laurie Dobrinich of Staunton, and  Jody Dobrinich of Staunton; and  many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mr. Dobrinich was preceded in death by one brother, Nicholas "Mickey" Dobrinich Jr.
