County Averaging 10.7 New Cases Every Day


Montgomery County continues to average over ten new COVID-19 cases per day, according to numbers posted regularly by the health department.

After two new cases Sunday, ten on Monday and 18 on Tuesday, the county has had 182 new positives for August just over halfway through the month, and average of 10.7 per day.

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), as of Tuesday, Aug. 17, the county had 51 vaccinations over the past week.

The third of three drive-through vaccination clinics hosted by the Montgomery County Health Department this week is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, in the M&M Service parking lot in Fillmore. All three vaccines will be available: Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson.  Pre-registration is not required; bring an insurance card if you have one.

The Litchfield School District reported that on Tuesday, Aug. 17, four students and one teacher at Litchfield High School had tested positive for coronavirus. Another student tested positive on Wednesday.
