Charles Lee Jones, 82, of Greenwood, IN, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2023 at Greenwood Health and Living Community in Greenwood.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Litchfield, IL 62056.
Mr. Jones was born Aug. 17, 1941 in Hillsboro, to Joseph Charles Jones and Ruby Davidson (Lentz) Jones. He married Mona Jean (Black) Jones on Sept. 1, 2001 in Benton, and she survives.
Mr. Jones was a 1959 graduate of O’Fallon Township High School in O’Fallon. He later graduated from Ranken Technical College. He worked as an auto mechanic for 36 years, last working for Dave Croft Sales and Service in Collinsville.
Mr. Jones had a lifelong love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was also deeply involved in the “Overcomers” prison re-entry ministry at his church.
He is survived by his wife Mona Jean (Black) Jones of Greenwood, IN; sons Mike Jones (Amy) of Franklin, IN and Dave Jones (Tami) of Bose, ID; sister, Carol Sue Jones of South Pasadena, CA; two stepchildren, Sharayah Gordon (Chris Cogill) of Herrin and Jarrod Gordon (Emily) of Farmington, MO; and eleven grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
