Charles ‘Chuck’ Henry Williams, 90, of Divernon, died Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Concordia Village Skilled Nursing Care. 

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. till time of services at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 28, at Bramley Funeral Home, located at 11 N. 1st St., in Divernon, with the Rev. Randy Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery in Divernon. 

Mr. Williams was the oldest son of the late Ira Henry William Williams (Farina, 1905-1982) and Dorothy Eliza Dalton-Klanke Williams (Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada, 1914-1995) of Hillsboro.

He married Lucille Nichols on Aug. 27, 1960 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2022. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his siblings, Alta Margaret Murdock, Iva Emoline Rogers and Idamae Maxine McBride.

Mr. Williams served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1959 as a teletype and cryptographic operator and spent six months in Taiwan (formerly Formosa) in a combat zone during the Quemoy Crisis. He worked from 1959 to 1960 at Western/Olin Mathieson in quality control, from 1960 to 1961 as a Shell Refinery lab sampler and from 1961 to 1991 as an artist/technical illustrator in the Publications Dept. at Fiat-Allis Construction Machinery. When Fiat closed, he worked at the State of Illinois Drivers Services and as a security guard at the Capitol Complex in Springfield for 22 years. 

Mr. Williams sang in the Methodist Church Choir, volunteered as a Little League baseball coach and was a golf chaperone for local children in Divernon and a precinct committeeman, Lions Club member and American Legion member. 

Mr. Williams is survived by her two children, Kevin (Jean) Williams and Sherri Williams; three dearly loved grandchildren, Jared Williams, Kara (Matthew) Strubinger and Kurtis Williams; one great-grandchild, Myles Williams; and two sisters, Edith Elaine (Bill) Milkes and Dorothy “Dottie” Henrietta Pearl (Phil) Lindholm.
