Chad ‘Duck’ Stewart, 44

Chad “Duck” Stewart, 44, of Butler, died on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 3:15 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 12, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Dan Willenborg, pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mr. Stewart was born Dec. 29, 1976, in Springfield, to Dale and Gail (Sanders) Stewart.

He graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1995 and attended Northeast Oklahoma University, Oklahoma State and Southwest Oklahoma State, where he was on the rodeo team as a bulldogger.

Mr. Stewart worked at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro and served as a stationary fireman.

He was a member of the Illinois Federation of Hunting Dogs and Carlyle Lake Water Fowlers. He was an avid deer, turkey and waterfowl hunter, and loved to coyote hunt. He also loved competing in truck pulling events.

During his lifetime, Mr. Stewart resided in Hillsboro and Butler.

He is survived by his parents of Hillsboro; fiancee, Stephanie (Adams) Keiser and her son, Kaleb Keiser, both of Butler; and grandmother, Nola Sanders of Ramsey.

Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his grandparents, Warren Sanders and Cecil L. and Mary Edith Stewart, Sr.
