Carol Ann Compagni, 79, of Nokomis died on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur surrounded by her family.
A private graveside service will be held for immediate family, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Compagni was born on April 29, 1942, in Litchfield, the daughter of the late Roland Wilder and Clara (McLean) Wilder Jachino. She married James Compagni on Aug. 12, 1967, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2006.
A member of the United Methodist Church in Nokomis, Mrs. Compagni enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and sharing coffee and good conversation with the close friends she lovingly referred to as “the girls.”
Mrs. Compagni is survived by her children, John Anthony Compagni of Nokomis, David (Bobbie Jo) Compagni of Decatur and Jason Compagni of Springfield; her brother, Steve Jachino of Rochester; her grandchildren, Bradley, Ashley, Shelby and Makenna; her great-grandchildren, Hadley, Cameron and Landon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother William Wilder and her half-sister Margie Lee Bovair.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Nokomis.
