It was another good day on the lake for Dane Bondurant on Saturday, July 17, as the Witt angler finished third at the Phoenix Bass Fishing League event on Rend Lake.
Competing in the Strike King Co-Angler group, Bondurant caught three fish weighing six pounds, eight ounces to secure third. Jarred Sample of West Frankfort and Bill Cearlock of Springfield split first with a three fish catch of eight pounds, one ounce each.
Also in the co-angler division, Danny Toohey of Sorento finished 42nd with a one fish catch of one pound, 15 ounces, while Matthias Kircher, also of Sorento, was 49th with a one fish catch of one pound, 11 ounces.
Bondurant’s partner, Tom Silber of Labadie, MO, finished 10th in the boater class with a three-fish catch of eight pounds, three ounces.
Bondurant currently sits second in the Strike King Co-Angler standings with 715 points, just three points behind James Jarvis for first.
The next tournament in the Illini Division of the Phoenix Bass Fishing League is on Saturday, Aug. 14, on the Ohio River in Golconda.
