Betty Jean Dickey, 98, of Litchfield, died at 9:53 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at Heritage Health and Senior Care Center in Litchfield.

Funeral services will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday, Nov.16, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Darrin Daugherty, associate pastor of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, will officiate, and burial will be in the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday.   

Mrs. Dickey was born April 25, 1924, in Farmersville, the daughter of Hobart and Emma (Baptist) Fenton. She was a graduate of Farmersville High School with the Class of 1942, and married Glenn Lester Dickey on Dec. 2, 1942, at the Methodist Church parsonage in Farmersville.  Mr. Dickey preceded her in death on May 27, 2004.   

Mrs. Dickey enjoyed farming with her husband on their farm over the years. She took pride how her home and yard looked, enjoying mowing and tending to her garden.  She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially preparing for the family gatherings.  She most enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Hartke of Litchfield, Nancy Steward of Raymond, and Patsy (Ralph) Awwad of Prudenville, MI; eight grandchildren, Kevin (Tracy) Niemann, Brian (Penny) Niemann, Dawn (Jeff) Wheat, all of Litchfield,  Travis (Linsey) Hartke of Boise, ID, John Steward of Raymond, Dena Steward of Hazelwood, MO, Sabah (John) Velasco, of Harper Woods, MI, and Abdalla (Margaret) Awwad of Cadillac, MI; two step granddaughters; Deborah (Kenneth) Claytor of Fulshear, TX, and Karla (Bill) Smith of Litchfield; 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dickey was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Fenton; sons-in law Dallas Steward and Richard Hartke; and step granddaughter Pamela (Hartke) Coatney.
