Barbara Sue “Sue” Weinberg, 77, of Gillespie, died at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, MO.
Mrs. Weinberg’s remains will be cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date. No public services will be held. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Weinberg was born on Sept. 28, 1944, in Rumsey, KY, to Carl Hawes and Veta (Southerland) Hawes. Her family moved to Illinois in 1956, and she graduated from Carrollton High School in 1962. She married Sheldon Weinberg on Feb. 19, 1966, in Benld.
Mrs. Weinberg had worked for the State of Illinois Department of Finance and Department of General Services, Weinberg Auto Salvage and Sullivan Drugs. She and her husband were winter Texans, spending many years in Mission, TX.
Mrs. Weinberg is survived by her husband; daughter, Stacy (Robert) Meyer of Hillsboro; son, Steven (Carol) Weinberg of St. Peters, MO; grandsons, Isaac Weinberg, Aaron Weinberg, Hunter Meyer and Logan Meyer; sister, Jean McGuire; and sister-in-law, Connie Reiniesch.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
