Barbara A. Grantham, 79, of Butler, died on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at 2:28 p.m., at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with  the Rev. Ralph Ward officiating. Burial will be in Ware's Grove Cemetery in Butler.

Mrs. Grantham was born on Jan. 21, 1944, in Moweaqua to the late Jim and Alleen (Lamm) Gaither. She was a 1962 graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro. She married Dana Grantham, on Aug. 10, 1962, in Sanner Chapel in Moweaqua, and he survives in Butler.

Mrs. Grantham had worked in health care as secretary doing insurance billing, scheduling and other office positions throughout her career. She attended Butler Union Church in Butler and the Methodist Church in Pinckneyville. In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed life on the farm. She loved gardening, canning God’s bounty, cooking and baking for her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Grantham is survived by her husband, Dana Grantham; two children, Debra (John) Harriss of Pinckneyville and Kevin (Laurel) Grantham of Crowley, TX; five grandchildren, Callie MacCormack, Carson Grantham, Daniel (Kate Presswood) Harriss, Benjamin (Melissa) Harriss and Rebekah (Matt) Lee; six great-granchildren, Audrey MacCormack, Cooper Harriss, River Harriss, Gracelyn Harriss, Alaina Harriss and Samuel Harriss and two sisters, Nancy Shaw and Mary Lou (Terry) Boles.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Gaither and Larry Gaither; one sister-in-law, Irma Gaither and one brother-in-law, Warren Shaw.
