Austin M. Kirk, 19, of Vandalia, died at 6:55 a.m. Thursday Aug. 26, 2021 at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
Visitation was held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Unity Baptist Church in Vandalia. The funeral took place at noon that same day. His internment took place at Liberty Cemetery in Bingham with Rev. Robert Weaver. Memorials may be made to his family.
He was born Sept. 24, 2001 in Greenville to parents Steven Kirk and Wendy Weaver. He was a lover of nature, enjoying anything outdoors, especially fishing and swimming. He loved to sing and dance to music and to play video games. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia, now known as Unity Baptist Church.
He is survived by mother Wendy Weaver; father Steven Kirk; brothers Dalton Kirk of Bluff City, Richard Kirk of Vandalia, and Conner Kirk of Riverton; maternal grandmother Jodi Weaver (Rod Helm) of Pana; paternal grandparents Harry Kirk and wife Jan of Bingham; paternal great-grandmother Janice Kirk of Vandalia; and several aunts, uncles and cousins
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kevin Weaver; maternal great-grandparents; and paternal great-grandfather.
