Alex Dixon, 24, of Hillsboro, died at 11:44 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 p.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Eugene Dunkley officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Coffeen. COVID-19 CDC guidelines with the use of masks and social distancing will be followed.
Dixon was born on June 27, 1996, in Breese, to Richard Dixon and Penny Dixon. Dixon was a 2014 graduate of Hillsboro High School, and was later employed as a grill cook and shift leader at McDonald’s. Dixon enjoyed gardening, dancing, gaming, music, friends and family.
He is survived by both parents; siblings, Hobie Dixon, Brittany (husband Matthew Sheppard) Dixon, Ben McDonald, Andrew McDonald and Christian Dixon; grandparents, Marie (husband Jesse) Foiles of Kincaid and Nancy Stanton of Hillsboro; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dixon was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Herschel Stanton.
