Wilberta Mae Webb, 84, of Hillsboro, died at 3:09 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023,at Tremont Ridge Assisted Living in Hillsboro.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 8, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with the  Rev. Mike Plummer, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.  Graveside service and burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home of Hillsboro is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Webb was born on Feb. 14, 1939, in Kingman, KS, to Wilbur Franklin and Mildred Marie (Van Riper) Geist.  She married Gary Dean Webb, on June 23, 1961, in Ottawa, KS, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2014. Mrs. Webb was a graduate of Heidelberg American High School in Heidelberg, Germany, and attended Ottawa University in Ottawa, KS.

When Mrs. Webb was a toddler, her father was called up with the National Guard.  She was raised as an “Army Brat” living in Europe, Guam and throughout the United States. After marrying, she again moved several times due to her husband’s career with the Army Corps of Engineers, building dams in Manhattan, KS, Centerville, IA, Carlyle, Shelbyville, Perry, MO, Marksville, LA, and Alton.

Mrs. Webb was a career Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro. From the age of 16 until her death, she served God as a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Webb was a lifelong devoted follower of Christ, finding a church for Sunday services wherever life took her.

Mrs. Webb is survived by her four children, Douglas (wife Kara) Webb of Lafayette, IN, Bradley Webb of Carrollton, Jeffrey (wife Belinda) Webb of Montgomery, AL, and  Deborah (husband Brian) Atkins of Hillsboro; ten grandchildren, Katarina, Kameron, Blaikley, Tiffany (husband Cody), Tatyana, Mikal, Elijah, Isaiah, Chloe and Josiah; one great grandchild, Cooper; one sister, Naoma Lowe of Florence, SC; one brother, LaRay Geist of Wimberley, TX; and one brother-in-law, Gordon (wife Marilyn) Webb of Hannibal, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers-in-law, Donald Lowe and Gale Webb; and one sister-in-law, Virginia Geist.
