Trudy A. Mollet, 75, of Highland, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, at her home in Highland.
Visitation was held on Friday, Dec. 22, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. Funeral service was held on Saturday, Dec. 23, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, with the Rev. William E. Kapp, pastor at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland.
Mrs. Mollet was born on Friday, April 6, 1948, in Highland, the daughter of the late LaRue and Martha (Ainscough) Neudecker. She grew up in the Marine and Highland area, and was a 1966 Highland High School graduate. She attended SIU in Edwardsville, earning an associate’s degree in accounting. On Friday, Feb. 14, 1975, she married Wayne A. Mollet at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2022.
She worked at First National Bank in Highland. She stayed home caring for their children and then went to work as a teaching assistant at WeeCare Childcare. She was a farmer's wife first, helping with the grain, beef and hogs. She played the flute with the Troy Community Band ever since it's inception, and was the longest tenured member of the band, with her last concert on Dec. 4. She was a great baker and enjoyed making homemade jelly. She adored her family. She especially loved "spoiling the grandchildren rotten.”
She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ and Evangelical United Church of Christ Bell Choir, as well as served as a Sunday School Teacher. She played in the Troy Community Band and was treasurer at St. Jacob Livestock Barn.
Mrs. Mollet is survived by her children, Lynn A. (David) Rivas of Highland, Lanna Kay Mollet of Houston, TX, Lisa Marie (Thomas "Andy") Lalor of Edwardsville and Gary Wayne Mollet of Pocahontas; grandchildren Dominic A. Rivas, Kaylen A. Rivas, Emma M. Rivas, Haley S. Lalor, Austin W. Schmonsees and Joshua A. Mollet; siblings Mardel L. (Daniel) Braun of Highland, Randal J. (Cindy) Neudecker of Highland, Kevin R. (Mary) Neudecker of Highland, LaDonna R. (David) Boyer of O'Fallon, MO, and Melissa "Missy" Athmer of Highland; brothers-in-law David L. (Angelena "Angy") Mollet of Highland, Dale W. (Karen) Mollet of Troy and Eldon R. Mollet of Highland.
She was preceded in death by her father LaRue Haley "Larry" Neudecker and mother Martha Lou Neudecker; husband Wayne Allen Mollet; daughter-in-law Melissa D. Mollet; father-in-law Gerald Earl Mollet and mother-in-law Edna Marie Mollet; brother-in-law Craig A. Athmer; and niece Danielle Braun.
