Ronald L. Bray, 74, of Gillespie, died at 10:24 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Memorial Mass was held on Saturday, Feb. 17 at SS Simon and Jude Church, at 304 North Macoupin Street in Gillespie.
Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie assisted the family.
Mr. Bray was born on Feb. 6, 1950, in Litchfield, to the late Andrew and Elizabeth Dunn Bray. He married Nancy Meehan Bray on Sept. 15, 1972, in Gillespie.
Mr. Bray was a member of the US Navy Reserves and retired after working as an inspector for Olin Brass.
Mr. Bray enjoyed sports, especially football, horseback riding and camping.
Mr. Bray is survived by his spouse, Nancy Bray of Gillespie; children, Heath (Kylee) Bray of River Forest and Trinity (Brad Jr.) Bray-Jett of Gillespie; grandchildren Kira, Lacey and Owen; brother, Gary (Kay) Bray of Litchfield; sister, Nancy (Arlin) Cunningham of Brighton; sister-in-law, Pat Bray of Gillespie; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Bray was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Andrew J. Bray.
Memorials are suggested to the HEIDI Foundation or Knights of Columbus of Gillespie.
