Ronald G. Daniels, 78, of Coffeen, died on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 17, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen. Graveside services will follow, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Shiloh Cemetery in Coffeen with the Rev. Tim Logue, pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Coffeen, officiating.

Mr. Daniels was born on July 6, 1939, in Coffeen, to Charles Leroy Daniels and Hazel J. (White) Daniels Young. He married Diana Hoog on June 10, 1961, in Litchfield, and she survives.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local #520 in Swansea, and lived in Coffeen throughout his entire life.

Mr. Daniels was a member of the NRA and Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Coffeen, and loved to trap shoot, hunt, fish and watch Cardinal baseball.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Mike (wife Nora) Daniels of Virden, Chad (wife Michelle) Daniels of Carlyle and Tory (wife Shannon) Daniels of Coffeen; five grandchildren, Taylor, Tad, Jessica and Ethan Daniels and Johnny Giller; three great-grandchildren, Khloe Everet and Hunter and Joey Giller.

Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, Frank Young.
