Kurt Alan Probst, 45, of Fillmore, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, in a vehicle accident.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore, with the Rev. Randy Sands officiating. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 23, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Probst was born Sept. 25, 1978, in Greenville, the son of Dr. Alan R. and Christina L. (Sheridan) Probst. He could build and fix almost anything. He was self-employed as a tree trimmer, plumber, electrician, roofer, performed small construction projects and recently retailed electrical supplies, tires, and drainage pipes.

Mr. Probst's hobbies included ultralight flying, snowmobiling, jet skiing, boating, scuba diving and inventing. He especially enjoyed designing and constructing a hangar from scrap parts to house his airplanes. Amazingly, his hobbies and skills were largely self-taught.

Mr. Probst will be remembered by his parents, Alan and Christy Probst; sisters Courtney Woods and Whitney (Josh) Paddock; brother Troy (Kayla) Probst; nephews Henry, Benjamin and Samuel Paddock; nieces Lydah and Eve Coates; grandmother Christine Sheridan; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John Sheridan and Paul and May Della Probst.

Memorials may be made to the Hillsboro Free Methodist Church. Miller Funeral Home of Fillmore is in charge of arrangements. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.millerfh.net.
