Jeff Hentzien, 61, of Chatham, died on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at his home.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Butler Funeral Home, located at 8855 State Rt. 4 in Chatham. A memorial ceremony will follow at noon with Pastor Jon Wagahoff officiating. Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Mr. Hentzien was born on Nov. 15, 1962, in Rockford, the son of Donald Wooten and Betty (Claudy) Pickett.
Mr. Hentzien attended Hillsboro High School. He went on to work as a commercial lawn specialist for TruGreen. Mr. Hentzien was a member of the Chatham community for over 15 years. He was a hard worker who was loved by and helpful to his neighbors and customers. Mr. Hentzien enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, attending Motorheads Bar and Grill, spending time with friends and listening to rock-n-roll.
Mr. Hentzien is survived by his daughters, Cheyanne and Olivia Hentzien and their mother, Shelly Hentzien, all of Morrisonville; mother, Betty (Floyd) Pickett of Colorado; siblings, Donnie Hentzien and Vicki (Robert) Casados, both of Colorado and Tim (Shannon) Lewellen of Louisiana; stepsiblings, Marty (Thea) and Jim Pickett, both of Colorado, Pam Daugherty (Scott) of Wyoming, Tracy (Leslie) and Mick (Teresa) Pickett, both of Colorado and Vicki (Dave) Beam of Iowa; godson, Derek Davidson; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wooten; paternal and maternal grandparents; paternal uncles; and maternal aunts.
