Barry Lynn Worker, 71 of Taylorville, died at 7:17a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 15, from 10 to 11 a.m. at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Gary Swisher officiating.
Mr. Worker was born on March 4, 1952, in Pana, the son of Mervin and Bonnie (Austin) Worker.
A lifelong musician, he played in several area bands and will be remembered for the many years he played with the Antics all around central Illinois. He will also be remembered for his positive and selfless attitude. Mr. Worker had a huge heart, would never stress over the small stuff and always put his children first.
He is survived by his companion Toni Sturgeon of Taylorville; children Cory Worker of Oregon and Kalyn Worker of New Mexico; grandchildren, Mariah Robinson, Kevais Worker, Rebekah Robinson, Cylas Worker and Treyton Durham; brothers Larry Worker and Terry (Linda) Worker, both of Pana; several nephews; life-long friend Rudy Dudra; and his Antics family including Floyd Short, Randy Tangman, Nathan Short, Tommy Blake and James Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Aaron Worker; and brother, Bill Worker.
