Barbara Ann Walker, 86, of Butler, died Oct. 5, 2023, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Oct. 8, at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services followed the with the Rev. Randy Sands officiating. Burial was held at Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler.
Mrs. Walker was born in Palmyra on Feb. 10, 1937, to Ralph and Christina (Bateman) Barnett. She married Donald Walker on July 22, 1956, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 2022.
A graduate of Girard High School, Mrs. Walker worked at Savings and Loans in both California and Springfield. She retired from Walmart in Litchfield as a clerk, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro and Montgomery County Home Extension.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her four daughters, Debra A. (Roger) Compton of Edwardsville, Wendy Ballhurst of Butler, Brenda L. (Bill) Krieger of Ft. Myers, FL and Diane L. Walker of Edwardsville; five grandchildren, Ryan, Scott, Dustin and Rachel Compton and Nicholas Ballhurst; eight great-grandchildren and one half sister Lyla Ahrens of Breese.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Randall Eugene Walker; grandson Benjamin Ballhurst and brother, Jessie Barnett.
