Barbara Ann (Gorin) Arnold, 91, of Farmersville, died on Saturday, July 29,  2023, at Carlinville Rehab Health Care Center.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. this afternoon, Thursday, August 3, at the Farmersville Methodist Church in Farmersville. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church.  A family burial will take place at a later date in Macoupin Creek near Farmersville. Hough Funeral Home in Farmersville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Arnold was born on May 24, 1932, in Litchfield, the daughter of Gladdin and Margaret Tilley Gorin. She married Thomas (Tom) Arnold on July 27, 1952, in Litchfield, and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2019.

Mrs. Arnold was a graduate of Litchfield High School. She was a member of the Waggoner United Methodist Church, then later joined Farmersville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Arnold was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Waggoner Home Extension. She had also been a Cub Scout Leader, active in her church and member of the Centennial Celebration Committee in Waggoner and Farmersville. She and her husband took pride in their communities whether it was locally or when they were wintering in Arcadia Village in Florida. They both supported many causes and activities.

The couple enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, golf, being active in the Arcadia Community Theater and the Waggoner Centennial Players, and most of all spending time and entertaining their many family and friends. In 2001 the Arnolds were named Irish Days Citizens of the year.

Mrs. Arnold is survived by her children, Patty (Lynn) Clarke of Farmersville, Debbie (David) Seaton of Edinburg and Andy (Lesley) Arnold of Auburn; grandchildren, Josh Seaton, Blake (Maggie) Seaton, Kelsey (Alexander) Johnson and Clayton Clarke; and great-grandchildren, Cohen Arnold Seaton, Hudson Leo Seaton and Elyse Anne Johnson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Gladdin Gorin.
