Wilma Mae Voyles Simburger, 95, of Bethalto, formerly of Sorento, died on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at 7 p.m. at her residence.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Sorento. Social distancing will be required, as well as face masks. A private family funeral ceremony will be conducted at the funeral home with the Rev. Alan M. Hunter officiating. Interment will follow the ceremony at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento.

Mrs. Voyles Simburger was born May 16, 1925, in Sorento, to Frank Robert and Alice Marie (Blackorby) Allen. She married Stanley H. Voyles on June 15, 1946, in Donnellson, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1979. She later married Harold O. Simburger on Nov. 7, 2015, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River, and he survives.

She retired from Roller Derby in Litchfield after 24 years of service. She spent her retirement working as a caregiver for many people.

In addition to her husband Harold, Mrs. Voyles Simburger is survived by her sons, Ron (wife Joan) Voyles of Springfield and Chuck (wife Terry) Voyles of Rockford; grandchildren, Crissy Voyles, Cynthia (husband Walt) Surgis, both of Springfield, Josh (wife Janel) Voyles and Amber (husband Ben) Bashaw, both of Rockford; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Stanley, she was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Henrietta Allen; infant brother, Frank W. Allen; sisters, Dorothy Vollintine and Frances Timko; and great-granddaughter, Emily Surgis.
