Wilma Jeannette Lipe, 101, of Raymond, died on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at 3:38 a.m. at her residence.

Private family funeral services will be held with the Rev. John Jaffry, pastor of Wares Grove Lutheran Church in Butler, officiating. Burial will be held at Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.

Mrs. Lipe was born May 31, 1920, in Butler Grove Township, to Roy William and Lulu Elizabeth (Klien) Niehaus. She married Vernon Junior Lipe on Oct. 11, 1939, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2010.

A farm wife, she loved quilting, gardening, painting and wood working. She was a member of Wares Grove Lutheran Church, Wares Grove Community Aid and the Montgomery County Farm Bureau.

During her lifetime, Mrs. Lipe resided in Missouri, then Butler Grove Township.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Walk of Carlinville, Wanda Bee of Hillsboro, Judith (husband Robert) Stieren of Florida, Larry (wife Shirley) Lipe, Kenneth (wife Beverly) Lipe, both of Raymond, Dale Lipe of Normal and son-in-law, Harry Diehl of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lipe was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Roberta Diehl; son-in-law, Thomas Bee; two grandchildren, Joseph Bee and Brian Lipe; three sisters; and one brother.
