Wilma June Grove, 90, of Litchfield, died on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at 2:25 p.m. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Litchfield Southern Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Mike Rogers officiating. Burial will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family.
Mrs. Grove was born April 25, 1930, in Hornsby, to Earl and Bertha (Davis) Atteberry. She married Harry Albert Grove on Sept. 26, 1948, at First Baptist Church in Litchfield, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2000.
She graduated from Gillespie High School with the class of 1948. During her career, she worked for Sears, J.J. Newberry and served as an office secretary for Dr. Rudolph Sommer.
Mrs. Grove was a member of Litchfield Southern Baptist Church and the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to Jubelt’s for coffee and fellowship.
She is survived by her son, David (Cindy) Grove of Litchfield; daughter, Sharon (Richard) Wimberly of Litchfield; sister, Vernetta Anderson of Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren, Stacie (Brad) Stanford, Steven (Alisha) Wimberly, Michael Grove, Melissa (Brent) Austin and Abby (Barry) Wright; and seven great-grandchildren, Kaili Stanford, Taylor Stanford, Morgan Wimberly, Claire Wimberly, Breann Jakich, Grace Wright and Andrew Wright.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Grove was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Harry and Bruce Grove; brother, Raymond Atteberry; two sisters, Reba Hill and Ruth Scherer; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Grove.
