With rain outside, racing at the Slideways RC Raceway was moved inside on Saturday, April 24, as dozens of competitors made their way to the group’s track at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in Brownstown.
Hillsboro’s Jason Williamson would compete in both the Street Stock and B-Mod races with the 3x Hillsboro Hustler RC car.
After missing the first qualifying heat for the Street Stock race, Williamson finished third in the opening B-Mod qualifier. In round two, Williamson won his qualifying heat in Street Stock, but did not finish the B-Mod qualifier, putting both cars in the B-Main feature.
In that race, Williamson started second in the Street Stock and was running well until a few spins resulted in a third place finish and the end of his night in that class.
He would fair better in the B-Mod race as he started third and went on to win and advance to the A-Main.
In the feature race, Williamson started fifth, but worked his way up to a third place finish and a solid overall night.
