William “Bill” P. White, 85, of Hillsboro, died on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Villas of Holly Brook in Springfield.

Private graveside services and burial were held at Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro assisted the family.

Mr. White was born July 4, 1935, in Panama, to Charles and Myrtle (Compton) White. He married Arlene Werner on July 15, 1956, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 2019.

He served in the U.S. Army and volunteered for the Hillsboro Fire Department. During his career, he worked as a cable splicer for the phone company, and co-owned Cress and White Antenna Service in Hillsboro.

Mr. White is survived by his children, Larissa (Alan) Hobbie of Hillsboro and Loren White of Springfield; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his four siblings, Norman, Jimmy, Betty and Bonnie.
