William F. Bedinghaus, 96

William F. Bedinghaus, 96, of Farmersville, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at Carlinville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Farmersville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held in St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Farmersville. IDPH guidelines will be followed, including social distancing and wearing masks. Hough Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mr. Bedinghaus was born Aug. 13, 1924, near Farmersville, the son of William and Carrie (Marten)  Bedinghaus. He married Edith Posthuma on May 7, 1955, and she survives.

A farmer his whole life, he worked on the family farm where he and his wife raised their family. He was a member of the Farmersville K of C Council, and also had belonged to the Farmersville Optimist, and had served as president.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Mark (wife Ruth) Bedinghaus of Palmyra, Anthony and Susan Jennings Bedinghaus of Monee, Jacqueline (husband Bernie) Riddle  of Springfield, Deborah (husband Dave) Waggoner of Waggoner and Theresa (husband John) Bomar of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Adam and Joy, Seth, Andrea, Kyle, Erika, Lucas, Brandon and Lindsay, Dane and Katie, Carly and Scott, Cassandra, Amanda and Richard, and Robert; and seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemary Elchlepp of Cedar Rapids, IA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Everett, Harry, Virginia Wessler, John “Jack” and LaDonna Rosenthal.
