A Panama couple are parents of the winner of The Journal-News first baby contest, a contest that dates back to 1936.

Raelee Grace Petcher was born in HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, to Jennifer and Samuel Petcher of Panama. The new arrival weighed eight pounds and five ounces, and was 19 and a half inches long. She has two older sisters, Renesmay, age five, and one-year-old Rozalynn.

Maternal grandparents are Dawn and Dennis Knutt of Panama, and paternal grandparents are Vicki and Jim Petcher of Hillsboro. Hazel Petcher of Hillsboro is the baby’s paternal great-grandmother.
