Walter ‘Gene’ Jett, 71

Walter Eugene “Gene” Jett, 71, of Donnellson, died at 5:43 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at his home. 

No services are being held.  Cremation rites will be accorded.  Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Jett was born on Sept. 20, 1949, in Litchfield, to Kenneth and Ruby Mae (Mahan) Jett. He married the former Sherry Lee Ridinger on Sept. 20, 2006. Mr. Jett graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1967. He was self-employed as a roofer and also worked at various local factories as a laborer. Mr. Jett was a member of the Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634, and Litchfield Sportsman’s Club.

Mr. Jett is survived by his wife;  father and step-mother, Kenneth (Phyllis) Jett of Litchfield; sons, Bart Jett of Coffeen, Steven Jett and Michael Jett, both of Litchfield; step-son, Scott (Cristy) Smith of Sedalia, MO; daughter, Sabrina (Wayne) Bartleman of Girard; step-daughters, Tanya Pugh and Christina Torres of Springfield, MO; brothers, Jim Jett of Coffeen, Tim (Della) Jett of Davenport, IA, Richard (Teresa) Jett of Greenfield, Kenny Jett, Jr. of Roswell, GA, and Scott (Tara) Jett of Litchfield; sisters, Susan (Denny) Eller of Ava, MO, and Tina Cook of Davenport, IA; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Mae Jett; brother, Robert Jett; and one sister, Julie Golden.
